Good choice. Mind you, in general Volvos are a little maintenance heavy compared to say, an old Toyota Camry, but on the 'low side' compared to many/most other lux models. If you intend to be a happy long term Volvo owner, budget for repairs: 500 for parts, 600 for labor yearly (fluid/filter changes not included in this). Double that it you're using dealer service. If you don't spend it all, bank the extra and keep adding to it.
This should keep you prepared..and happily putting around for anything most 2.5T FWD Volvos are likely to throw at you.
If this is your first Volvo, a bit of advice. Beware of aftermarket parts. You really want to stick to OE/OEM parts on these. For some reason most of the aftermarket parts for Volvos is total crap that either doesn't work right from the beginning or breaks again after 2-6 months. Just don't. I learned the hard way. Every time I'm tempted to use some aftermarket part I get stung again. I'm now at the point where (if it's something rather expensive) I consider it better to install a used OE part rather than a new aftermarket part.
