Steve -- I am probably running closer to 15-20K annually. I'd love to be able to do the belt myself but as I said, the cost of failure is too high for me right now. Also, I may want the car to go to my mechanic for them to determine the actual source of the oil leak, but I'll give you a call and we can discuss. When are you next in Jersey? (or perhaps I should say, how frequently, since I'll have to get the associated timing components together).

Can you do without the car for a week using a backup?

Tough call on that pump, Im still on my original one at 200k miles and not a sign up leakage yet. Im not due for another belt for another 40k miles.

The trick to getting the belt back on is to put it on the water pump last - now you are pushing down and on a larger radius gear, and it is easier to fit. WCM and I figured this out on my 99.
