F/UP - EVAP monitor went ready in about 30 miles so this was probably the cause of my extended MON NOT READY condition - 2000 miles plus. Now I pass NYSI 'for real' - very virtuous.

Great write up for a 1999 V70, but if you have a 1998 V70 like mine, the charcoal canister is behind the left front fender inner liner, not in the back of the car. This video will show you where you 1998 canister is (though I might not use the type of hose this guy used).
