The dreaded heater core failure. Usually that failure results in a soaked carpet on the passegners side of the car.

On your radio, are all of the right side speakers out, front and rear? Also, which radio is it? Did the speakers work before you had the heater core replaced?

If it is just the dashboard speaker that doesn't work chances are the shop simply forgot to plug it back in after working on your heater.

Aha! You got me. The passenger's side carpet was all wet. But we haven't changed the heater core yet, the volvo part takes like a month to get here (the importer didn't have any stock) so, in the meantime, they did something like doing a new connection (like a bypass) so that the refrigerant stopped evaporating.
The right side radio speakers are both dead, front and back, and it was before we discovered the heater problem... so I guess I'll have to pay another fortune so that they check that out for me.
Anyway, I'm really having a good time driving this car, the comfort is incredible and it has a really nice response while driving even though it's huge!
Thanks for answering, this forum is also fun!

About your radio problem, I posted in November with my right side speakers out. My right side speakers would come on if I jiggled the volume knob, then often go back out. The advice I got worked great.
Get a can of electrical contact cleaner and a can of compressed air cleaner. Blast around the volume knob with the air, then put a few different shots of electrical cleaner at the knob base and work the knob back and forth. It not only worked on the volvo, but I had two radios in the house doing the same thing and all three work great now. As advised I bought the two cans at home depot and saved money VS buying at an electronic or computer store. Here is what I bought:
CRC Lectra Clean Electrical grade parts cleaner and CRC Duster Moisture-Free Dust & Lint Remover.
Becareful not to get to much Lectra clean on switch at once, I got to much and before it evaporated it got under my cheap radio decals and fogged them a bit.
