That is the usual practice for the OEM supplier when they sell the part under their name, and a good indicator thatRein is the “new” OEM, whatever that means

It is quite a consumer dance here, isn’t it.

You get 20years on OEM parts, you decide you want to replace in kind, you buy”OEM” only to get a part with no history of life because the Original part of OEM no longer applies

I would venture to postulate even with OE parts from the original suppliers, with regard to products utilizing natural rubber you might even see 'good years' and 'bad years' depending on weather/climate conditions that the trees are experiencing where the rubber is being sourced. No doubt the properties/chemical content of the tree sap from which natural rubber is made can be sensitive to conditions, not unlike sugar maple trees/maple syrup where the finished product quality and production volume absolutely does vary from year to year.

Then you talk about switching suppliers and all bets are off-- where maybe the formula/mix of additives that worked with company A's rubber sourced from Brasil doesn't give the same/ideal results with rubber sourced from Indonesia....
