His 2013 is not, the excessive transmission problem was limited to the 2003 - 2005 XC90 T6 AWD.

Our relationship with a car company is the convolutionof the company culture and the dealer, so our experience is either lifted or tainted by both.
I’ve had good experiences with VW and BMW, and Volvo. My VW dealer missed a recall on air bags which expired, the dealer across town called VWOA and got me free parts even out of warranty.
Here we tend to high mileage cars well past expected lifetime, and sometimes expect a ‘warranty defect coverage ‘ on an item 20years after manufacture as a reflection of customer care. Thinking about it, this doesn’t make business sense for either the dealer or manufacturer.
People who reuse engine oil and coffee filters probably aren’t their Next meal.
