New Headliners Cost?

I had someone out to remove, recover and replace at my home. Took about 3 hrs from memory and was $200ish.

The time was spend scraping the old yellow glue off the panel and waiting for the new spray on glue to tack before attaching to the panel.

Looks factory, was money well spent. They did the sunroof also.

Even if you can get an old stock Volvo, would it match perfect with an aged interior .... ?

It did on mine and I live in sunny Florida. The A pillars and moonroof sunshade match the original factory installed headliner and visors perfectly. You would never know anything had been touched. I am particular about things looking just right or it bothers me. I realize my car is 15 years old, but Volvo still has the parts. So why not? Is my feeling. If someone else can't afford it, then used original likely would be a perfect match. Even the new leather on the driver's seat matched the rest perfectly and doesn't look oddly. When I get my car back I'll snap some pictures. June

Addendum;
Found a picture I was able to zoom in to show the color match of the new A pillar and the old headliner. Can you tell a difference? When I get my car back I'll take good pictures and add them. June

Ok here is the new A pillar and sunshade both replaced with Genuine Volvo, but headliner is factory. The color match is perfect as well as fabric texture. June

DIY or upholstery shop path allows you to change color. I looked at a V70 that had been done in charcoal and the pillar covers where done with the same. It looked like a rich option instead of a DIY project. Some NMW and Mercedes (and others I'm sure) have the different colors for their premium or sport models. I have done a few with same or similar color and the challenges are cleaning and allowing for any depressions around grab handles, if the headliner has those. Cleaning is not too bad with a shop vac in one hand and a drill with a bigger rotary brush chucked in it. The brush, I used a plastic one I found somewhere, stripped off the foam and the vac diminished the mess. The sticky residue was left but that was OK. I used brush on contact cement for board and spray for fabric/foam.
