Here's a photo of the AOC drain plug. It's to the right of the curved loom wire. That wire leads to the AOC oil pump.

This can be viewed from the drivers side. The AOC is between the propeller shaft and the final drive gear.

Here's a photo of the AOC oil pump and filter.

The oil pump has a black casing. The AOC filter sits above the pump slightly to the left.

Good bolts and nuts are first to make maintenance a joyful task -- lowers the risk of foul mouth disease. I replace bolts, nuts and screws that are exposed to extreme temps and road salt for safety reasons -- cutting and removing is preferred over heat. Spray with rubberized coating where possible.

I've replaced bad rusty bolts myself on this wagon but I tell you they were easy to remove. The heads might be rusted but the threads had to be plated. All the suspension bolts I removed for the first time came out with little effort. No extractions needed yet.

In my old age I’m ordering replacement hardware for every undercarriage job I do in the salty Northeast.

Ive got a nice stash of decent used Volvo hardware from all my cars

A member of VOLVOSWEDEN made that video.

Note that he's servicing a Haldex 4 which has a different location for the AOC filter. Our P2s come with Haldex 3 which has an easier AOC filter to access.

This from FCP on the use of 75W90 Fully Synthetic Gear Oil (1 Liter) - Liqui Moly LM2048
Original question:

"Can this be used for 2004 XC70 and 2004 V70 front angle gear and rear differential?"

The answer posted by FCP Product Team:
"Yes, this is a synthetic GL-5 75W90 gear oil and is ideal for both the front bevel gear and the rear diff. Just do not confuse it for Haldex fluid, it is NOT appropriate for the AOC coupling ahead of the rear differential.
I contacted Liqui Moly support and they were less certain this oil was applicable to the front angle gear - they were not able to confirm its use for that in my 2004 xc70 2.5T AWD. They did confirm its use for the rear differential.

Being a 75W90 gear oil the Liqui Moly LM2048 can be used in both the front and rear differentials. Don't worry about their uncertainty.
