Would you happen to have a step by step break down of this? I'm having a hard time finding any info or tutorials on doing this.

Removing the angle gear once the axle is out is easy. Just undo all of its bolts going into the transmission and it'll come right off. As far as taking the sleeve out of it and jury rigging it to work, this is what mine looks like:
