Working on installing the oil return line with an engine thats out of the car and the turbo removed.
Have tried putting the o-ring around the new tube and forcing it into the block, no go (outside of ring lubricated with oil, port in block cleared).
Tried putting the O-ring into the block and then putting the tube in, that doesn't seem to work either though.
Any suggestions? Using an orange colored O ring from a kit I got from FCP seems to match the green one that came out of this 2004 C70 T9 block when I took out the old oil return line

Did you try reinstalling with the original o-ring?

The pressure holding the tube in comes from the turbo so it doesnt make sense to install the tube by itself, it will just flop around. What does make this job easy is installing the turbo with the tube loosely attached, guiding it into the block as you mount the turbo, then ball end 5mm hex wrench on the M4 bolts to tighten as last step of turbo install.

Got it. Key was to hand sand use 400 then 600 grit paper to remove oxidation on the tapered portion of the hole in the block. Remove sanding residue with brake clean on a shop rag. Fit the tube without the seal so that you see the limits on the angle. Finally put seal on tube first then be sure the outside of the seal has oil or assembly lube.
