You accomplished something, you eliminated the battery as the cause.
1. Antenna ring eliminated.
2. Battery eliminated.
Did you do the lock/unlock with the good and charged battery in?
Next suspect:
Open-circuit in the communication between the central electronic module (CEM) and the engine control module (ECM). These cars will do this when the connectors on the CEM works loose.
You should get a diagnostic scanner and pull the codes.
VIDA/DiCE is the recommended diagnostic scanner.

You're right, a couple of things have been eliminated and thank you for that, sometimes you need that little bit of encouragement.
I tried the 5x lock/unlock thing with no changes.
Found a video to go into diagnostics (DIM diagnostics?) where you hit the turn signal read button along with the rear driving light button for the DTCS menu. As I scroll through I "ass"ume it's checking each module, and when I reach the CES I have a message that sounds like a code is set but it doesn't give a number, is the vida/dice more precise than that?
I've also heard of the CEM having loose connectors in other posts but haven't been able to remove mine to re-seat the plugs, and because of its location, finding a good video diy is difficult.
Thanks again.

I have yet to see anybody post useful "DIM diagnostics".
I think the "DIM diagnostics" is to get one stirred up enough to go to a dealer.
VIDA/DiCE is much more precise, it will give you the exact DTC.
There is a 10mm bolt holding the main CEM connector in place. See the file in the link.

Appreciate the file. I was able to remove the CEM and re-seated the relays but no there was no difference when I connected the battery terminal again. Tried the lock/unlock sequence again, also.
You're definitely right about the vida/dice scanner, but kind of scared since I really don't know what I'm looking for...There are import ones, used ones, then, on top of that, have to worry if my current laptop works with it. Maybe I can find a local enthusiast group that'll take mercy on me and let me borrow one but I'm on the look out.
Thanks again, Rick.
