Ah, thank you. Didn’t realize the driver-side ejector was a sub-assembly of the fuel pump re-and-re. Thought it was a separate part that remained in the tank and was being hooked into. I’ll suggest this to the shop when I take it back.abscate wrote: ↑30 Aug 2019, 03:12 They have messed up the hoses in the fuel tank somehow. It’s a subtle job and easy to mess up if they haven’t studied it carefully.
It has nothing to do with the part shown, it’s part of the new fuel pump that’s has to be pulled over with messenger line as noted above
In the XC90 forum, user shockwave chased this for a few months before finding a kinked line from a poor installation on this same setup.
The explanation the shop gave after the first revisit was that “there wasn’t enough vacuum for the other side of the tank” and they had to reseat the fuel pump. That’s what got me on the ejector hookup being the issue. Kind of annoyed they didn’t test it. I purposefully timed the drive back to the shop so I ran the fuel down to where it stalled, then added two litres from a jerry can just before dropping it off. That way they could confirm the problem and test. When I picked it up, they had added $20 in fuel. I assumed they had actually tested when they said, “It’s all good now.”
Also, at the same time I first experienced this issue caused by the new fuel pump install, I also discovered you can get a $184 traffic violation for running out of gas.
