I understand, the relay is not accessible by removing the access panel. I just questioned the premise that the REM should be removed. I had a look at the REM on my car, and it seems uncertain that releasing the REM would help because the space is so confined.Mr. Detail wrote: ↑20 Nov 2019, 07:42 DrDan, all I wanted to do was replace a single, potentially worn out relay. The one I was told that operates the left rear fog lamp properly is on the right hand side of the REM and it is blocked by the trim panel. Seems like a stupid location for it since I can't get full access upon opening the access door.
I suggest removing the side panel, I checked with the Haynes and it seems that I recalled correctly the procedure. If you want to try that, remove the hex screw holding the side panel, the bottom panel and the access panel. Fold rear seat if you see fit, pull the side panel at the rear end towards the inside of the car. Then release the front clip and reverse-tetris the panel out.
It's easier than it may sound, just try, you'll succeed. Good luck!
