So with the switched plugs the problem seems better at idle (I'mntempted to say gone, bit I don't want to jinx it).
But at over 3.500 rpm with full boost I am getting cutouts that ain't funny.
I am still thinking spark.
Although fuel pressure could be an issue if the pressure is too low.
P.S.: As I mentioned, the cap and rotor hat metallic flakes on the electronic contact areas. Could they be junk after just 4 years and 20. or 25.000 miles?
They came in a Bosch box, but my local parts guy says you never know what's really in there.

Depending where the parts were bought it could be a copy part these days. Have you recently been near the cam sensor? The wiring routing is critical.ake sure you route it as far away from the distributor as you can print will kill the signal.

Thanks, Neil!
I replaced the cam sensor last fall. I will try to reroute the wire.
If that doesn't help, I will switch the distributor with the 94. Thanks, Misha

Swap the whole thing...along with wires.
It's easier.

Actually, Misha solved the problem somehow.
I'm almost ashamed to solve the mysterie: When I was putting the new wires on in cold temps around the freezing point, my girlish hands must have had too little pressure to press on 2 wires ontonthe distributor completely.
Seems to be good for now. I did multiple 2000-5000 rpm pulls in 1st and 2nd and it runs smooth as usual.
And because I would have cured the problem by swapping the distributor with wires on it Misha deserves thw honor of the green checkbox.
Thanks for all your input.
After Neil's comment I finally do understand why the cam sensor wire plug is secured in its position with that clip so tightly.

Great!
Problems troubleshooting is much easier when you have almost identical other car to swap out parts from it.
