Looks like quite a lot on the face of it, but then I realised I have most of that under my boot floor... A few questions if I may:

- Why do you have so much self-defense? Multiple pepper sprays and pocket knives? Are you in an especially rough area?
- 3 dashcams, is that front, rear, and driver? What is your reasoning behind the third, if my assumption is correct? Dashcams are still rather uncommon in the UK and have a lot of bad press.
- 3 medkits/belt cutters. Why three? Or are they all in different places? Even still, what's the justification - have you previously been in an incident where just a single one in one location had a negative outcome?
- 2 spare phones, if you have charging cables why do you need the extra phones? Seems like something one would forget to charge and end up being useless anyway.
- Chains - are they snow chains or tow chains or yet another self-defense item?
- 2 additional jacks - why? I've never used more than one jack to do any job in my life, yet you have three (including the spare scissor jack). Do you often find yourself doing major maintenance or repairs on your daily commute?

Here's my own personal list (feel free to critique!):

Under my boot floor I store the following: Jumper cables, extending wheel brace, tow rope, spare rope (for securing load items), compact 3/8ths socket and screwdriver set (Bahco S330), bulb kit, hi-vis vest, emergency triangle and tyre inflator. In winter I'll add a spare coat and gloves.

I also have an atlas, a first aid kit, and insurance details in the rear seat pockets. I store a microfibre cloth and quick detailer under the arm rest (to deal with bird bombs and any interior messes), and keep a tyre pressure gauge, torch, multi-tool, babywipes and charging cable in the glovebox. The glovebox also houses two CD wallets...!

Ultimately I think that leaves me covered in most events, and the items I have are all compact enough that everything is hidden from view with no impact on load space or useable cabin space.

Gosh, rereading that I have a LOT more stuff than I expected.
That first (failed) video was 20min long. I will update with an 8min video. It explains better instead of having to explain everything.
I probably wouldnt use the pepper spray unless all windows are open. Ive made that mistake before lol. One pocket knife in center console unnecessary. For self defense I have 2x 6" knifes. Dashcams are for accidents, LEO purposes, and other incidents; I live in the US so I have 1st Amendment (right of freedom of press/to record (also to assemble/protest)) behind me. I want to think that We The People strongly encourage each other to record in case of violence (including highway riots which are domestic terrorism), fraud, car jacking, road rage, and corrupt police (not common but theyre out there). In the case of my 2021 road trip, Ill need them in light of the riots, but also for my adventures across the country. Medkits and window knockers are all in different locations. Two spare phones (emergency call only) in case i lose my v20 or if i need a separate flashlight. The small gauge chain is unnecessary, heavy duty one is tow chain. I just used it this morning on my 960 to move both 98 XCs over to the right so i could comfortably park my 960. Only 2 jacks in trunk. Scissor jack went in garbage, just like the one in my 09 impala, 01 v70, and 98 XC, because of how unsafe I heard they are. Hydraulic jack is primary, with the steel jack being for support in case hydraulic collapses.
i also have a CD wallet, but that stays in house because my 960 comes with the 6 disc changer.

How else am I supposed to deal with witches in the valleys of Wales?

Also a flashlight, as the name so clearly states, is a light that flashes...!

More fun and confusion from our common language. My favorites are dust bins (waste basket) and rubbers (elastic bands or waterproof boots).

The British language may say rubbers for rubber bands or for waterproof boots. They may also call waterproof boots wellies (short for wellingtons, which I think was a brand name. Apologies to our British cousins if I got any of this wrong.

Rubbers also for what we call an eraser over here.

Cil7, there is a lot of fear mongeringgoing on about anarchy and violence, usually being pumped by people trying to sell stuff. A ridiculous number of people went out buying guns during Covid.

Knives are not good self defense weapons. A tire iron is much better and is actually useful

Firearms are for those who need extreme compensation for deficiencies.

My good man, rubbers over here most certainly does not mean what you think it does. A rubber is, as abscate said, either a pencil eraser or, again as abscate put it earlier, a pro file tactic. Its not a word you want to be announcing in a store - very embarrassing!

Wellingtons are not a brand, but a very specific type of waterproof boot (i.e. the mid-calf height rubber boot as you said - normally green in coloir with a yellow sole), and they would not be referred to as rubbers, but almost exclusively as wellies.

Elastic bands are just elastic bands, there is no slang or colloquialism for them.

I try my best to use the proper Americanisms when on this site, but sometimes the odd BE slips through. It is good to see that it provides some sort of entertainment!

As I have said before, the worst failures are not what you do not know, but what you think you know, but is just not true.
