It's a different part number for sure. I seem to think the number of splines is different on the transmission end.

Solved! Looks like IanRush was right! I replaced the drivers CV last weekend and now have driven about 500 miles with no knock at all. I've had CVs fail before but never like this. Oh well, if I have to stick a new $45 CV in every 40 or 50k miles that's not too bad. It also gave me a chance to fix my earlier mistake of using non-OEM output seals which have been slowly leaking since I did them. I put in some Cortico seals this time around and now it's all dry down there. Thanks for the help everyone!
