I use to send the kid out to shovel the driveway. Had him put the snow in the bed of the pickup.
Never had traction problems and it emptied itself when it was no longer needed.

They both usually last a long time. Easy to replace,
but not in middle of snow storm.
Good to know. I wonder how many people are aware of this. Just downloaded the manual only to discover how much maintenance points are on these machines. Maybe not critical, but there seems to be a lot of grease/lube points. Didn't even realize the auger had a gearcase with oil.

The quality of my snow removal machine's latest job was what I can only term "Scantech" level. I had him go back to do a better job and it was still bad. He left the shovel in the yard also. Sigh. I didn't get mad at him. He's a young man, and young men want to eat and play video games, not shovel snow.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

My brother and I have talked about the lessons we learned from our dad on work. Mostly, he taught us the value of work and the need to keep after it until finished. He seldom yelled at us, but you knew if he was displeased with the results. There was always plenty of things to be done and work generally came before any fun.

As we gained some mobility, dads idea was the later you came home at night, the earlier he would get you up the next morning.

I think my brother and I turned out to be responsible people.

I gave away my snow blower, shovels, and roof rakes last year when I moved 1,200 miles south. It snows down here in southern TN but the light coating only sticks to areas of shaded grass. Family and friends in New England just got hammered with nearly 2 feet in some spots!
