If the driveshaft is just out of the car, sitting in the corner of the garage like mine, maybe you could clarify /
You car is what mine aspire to be. Good luck.
I am sure Mark will chime in on this, but the way I understand it the driveshaft itself needs rebuilding. I installed a new angle gear and a new viscous coupler on this car and they don't have a ton of miles on them.

FWIW. I think it is possible to drop the tank enough to service the pump and sender by just easing the torsion bar part of the suspension without dropping the entire back axle.

I've kind of lost track of this particular repair - because I haven't had the misfortune yet - is the other option the panel cutter technique behind the seat ?
The car looks like a shiny new penny compared to my fleet, all teetering on the brink of extinction.

Both! It is out of the car and sitting in the corner of the garage. It needs to be rebuilt or replaced as the joint in the middle of the two-piece shaft had gotten a little worn.

I have contemplated the panel-cutter solution. However, I decided to let the new owner decide which route they would prefer to take. Same with the exhaust- there are options, and the new owner will choose how they would like it set up!

My 850 T5 was doing some goofy intermittent stuff, and I had visions of a fuel pump change in my future, but decided to try the relay swap first; been a week in local drives and so far- so good.
Hope you're getting some real action instead of virtual tire-kickers.

Car has been sold to a fine home shop owner, thick with Volvos of his own, as early as '94 and as late as '05. Thank you all for your help!
