"bank" usually refers to the 02 sensor...with older cars it's "front bank" evidently on these newer cars it's "right bank." What causes this? Well, the obvious is a bad 02 sensor, but vacuum leaks or a bad/dirty MAF sensor can also cause this condition. Try to problem shoot the cheaper/obvious stuff first before going for an 02 sensor replacement.

Well I have found the problem my "PLASTIC" gas tank was leaking! Why does the so-called safest car in the US have a plastic fuel tank? :? The repair is very costly and I'm without a car for a week!  I'm not feeling my VOLVO right about now :x

So, a large vacuum leak....hmmm. How many miles? Seems that something this grave would be under warranty. If not, I would certainly report it to the highway safety department.

Ok im already figuring my o2 sensors need replacing car hs 120k. My check engine light recently came on only after refueling. I pulled the battery cable off for 15 minutes to reset. I also replaced the fuel cap, fuel filter, air filter and spark plugs as part of regular maint.

the light stayed off until I refueled again, this time I pulled the battery cable and the light came back on after on 1/2 day of driving.

So does everyone think I need two 300 buck sensors or is it something else?
