I'm in MI, so Iowa is a bit far. Even when I do see something in IN or OH, it's hours away. Are you anywhere near I-80?

My 2000 V70 FWD has 16" 850 turbo wheels and runs 205/55 R16 Goodyear Assurance ComforTread all seasons on them. They rub a little in the wheel wells at full lock and make my speedometer appear to go slower than it is (shows 58 mph when I'm going 60 mph). I didn't get to push them in the snow this year but they're decent in rain and claim to have some rolling resistance to help with gas mileage.
On my 15" wheels, I have the slightly large 195/65 R15 Michelin Defender tires. They came with the car and I haven't used them much but they'll probably rub like the slightly large 16's I have.
Geronimo, the 2000 V70 FWD, got 195/65 R15 Nokian Hakkapeliitta studded snow tires. The owner loves them. I think they rubbed the wheel wells at full lock felt so I was worried the studs would scratch. They were pretty loud when driving on dry road, as you'd expect from studs.
In the past, I used summer tires with aggressive grip, Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S. They wore out shockingly quickly. But yes, they really did grip when taking hard turns. I got them primarily to combat my manual transmission spinning the wheels when I accelerated from a stop uphill.
