Managed to get an oil change done on the V70 today, a bit later than usual because i was out of filters, then ordered the wrong one

Just like a month ago, it decided to run on 4 cylinders this morning. Unplugged/replugged the injectors like last time and it runs fine again
The damn thing is jealous about the latest addition to the fleet being the center of attention and not swedish I need to order supplies to make a new injector loom

Hmm, what's the newest member of the fleet?

Another fuel inefficient wagon, a 4th gen subaru legacy with the 3.0L flat 6 Gonna be interesting to see how differently they do things compared to volvo...
One thing in common is the Bosch ABS unit with those tiny Torx E5 screws

Nice! I love Subarus. They're actually pretty decent to work on.


...that said, I haven't messed with the flat 6. Only the 4 cylinder.

My buddy contacted me to ask advice about buying a Subaru for his daughter. He was specific it had to be an automatic (I think most are and have been for a while CVT trans?).

I looked on line for a suitable local candidate in all of Alberta. Everything I saw was thrashed, trashed, bashed or badly crashed. About 50% were rebuilt and most were manual trans. The better cars were all imported JDM cars. The only car that came up in his requirements was a really high mileage 07 3.6R. Hm, for a kids first car???

He was pleased to find a candidate locally, went and drove it and was going to buy it. I strongly suggested he run a Carfax on it and he is glad he did. Salvage title and not inspected!

Most Subarus are CVT since 2010 or so. Overall, they've proven to be solid, not nearly the disaster that Nissan had with them. Even though I can't stand CVTs anyway.

Phillips screws are horrible... they cam out too easily. Torx is the best!
