I have another CEM-L on the bench. Part number is 31314468. The correct bytes are B0 = 55, B1 = 20, B2 = 00.
The latest master gets B0 & B1 correct every time but misses B2 every time. B2 selection is inconsistent LAT_ONLY on or off does not matter. Samples = 100.


Dug up some ancient code and it works.

One of the changes is the removal of CPU 180 MHz clock. Try to uncomment this line and run: https://github.com/vtl/volvo-cem-cracke ... .ino#L1031

If it works, your USB power is not sufficient.

If it works, your USB power is not sufficient.
With CPU @ 180 MHz it cracked. To test your theory, I switched back to 600 MHz and used my powered USB hub connected to the 5V 3A output of my bench power supply. At 600 MHz & 15 Watts of USB power capacity, it did not crack got B2 wrong again. I am inclined to think insufficient power is not the issue.

Possible issues:
  • 1. The size of the trace between Vusb and Vin on the back of the Teensy 4.0.
    2. Ripple on the power supply line.
( Voltage drop across the trace as current goes up )

Next I am going to add some test points to the board so I can watch the power supply on the scope as it runs.
Might try a jumper from the Vusb through hole to the to the ( + ) power supply rails on the PCB board. That would give two parallel paths to the rail and lower the resistance.
