One of the Canadian carpenters I worked with in the '90s drove one, had about a half-ton of tools in back. Tire clearance over speed bumps was an issue.

As long as we're studying tiny Italian cars, what the heck is this?? NOT a V8. TINY displacement.

You are the winner! Ex-motorcycle engine builder turned car maker. A twincam 750cc four cylinder. They raced those little things at LeMans! In what class? Under 1-liter class?

That car designed by who?…..Michelotti!

That blue one is a smart looking motor. The tiny flag makes me think maybe it’s Brit-tish.

The Moretti 750 Gran Sport Berlinetta - pretty fancy title for such a little thing.

Here's the 750 wide angle twin-cam four....

Moretti w rock.jpeg
I read a piece about a recent "California Mille" tour. A father-son team drove a '53 Moretti that had been featured in Road & Track in 1953. They stopped the last day with a broken spring hanger, but had done 4 days and 800 miles.

They won the unofficial "guts and glory" award with their tiny Moretti. "This was their first rally of any kind, and they didn't have a parking brake or wheel chock, to save weight, but they hadn't counted on the steep mountains. They adapted by carrying 30 pounds of rocks in their trunk to keep the car from rolling away at rest stops. They never stopped grinning during the week and were a joy to be around.”

Based on that diamond logo, I'm gonna say it's a Riley sports / racer from the mid-30's? Great looking car.

I had not found a picture of it. Only 2 cars of that era I can think of with that logo that shape would be Riley and Alvis.

Lovely looking car.
