That would be tragic. But you could still salvage the carcass. And maybe the moose meat.

We’ve been driving her around lightly in Covid times , the right rear caliper disintegrated when we tried to change pads.

Installed a good used from Jane Bond ( thanks Firefox) and passed NY state inspection in Jan 2022

Have a Seeping lower radiator hose to do today

I love how smooth this motor runs.

Can you tell me a little more? Are you serious about letting her go?
I might be interested as a possible replacement for Bertha (daughters 04 V70 which I sold)

Are you sure that Jane Bond right rear caliper is good? My notes from 12/2019 say its inner piston was frozen extended, pressing pad to rotor. One time I drove it, it got so hot that the wheel got hot and the tire started to smell. After that, I would pry open the piston before driving it (which I didn't do much after that point). Before you towed it home, I pried open that piston to be sure it didn't drag the whole way and overheat the wheel and tire.

Maybe it's possible to disassemble and clean it. My notes don't show that I ever tried.

The NA motors always seem so smooth compared to the turbos. Be careful it doesn't become a permanent addition to the fleet..........!
