Wow, I will be tackling that soon on my P2 S80 T6. Being it's a T6 the bolts on the driver's side are very difficult to get at. On top of that I will be installing new bushing front and back rather than swapping LCA's. I hope I'm not headed for 40 hours

Installed a set of Sachs rear shocks and Meyle mounts on my 2006 V70. The old ones (OG I think - 163k - Sachs branded - Made in Germany) didn't ride that bad...or so I thought. The new ones...wow. Did the rear pads while I was there.

I had planned on doing the lower control arms tomorrow...until I saw gnalan's post. Yikes - what made it take 4 days?

I'm still new to Volvo's and how to fix them. I had a lot of bolts that the previous owner had overtightened that I couldn't break loose. Plus I have other issues that keep me from doing too much all at once before I can't do anymore.

If you spray your bolts down with some good penetrating oil a couple of days before you work on it you shouldn't have the same issues as I did, hopefully. Also if you have one, or can borrow one, and impact wrench makes a lot of the bolts/nuts break loose easier, and I forget who posted it but a ratchet strap to help pull the new LCA down to realign the strut bolts would make things easier too. I didn't have one, so it was me and one other person pushing and shoving as hard as we could to get the strut bolts back in, and the axle back into the hub. Those new bushings don't have the same ease of movement as the worn out ones did.

@gnalan - thanks for the explanation. I'm fortunate to have impact tools and a ratchet strap so hopefully things will go a bit more smoothly. I hear you on the too much at once - when I wrench these days (vs. 30 years ago) I need a few days of recovery. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
