What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

It was colder today, so I checked out the rear hatch for proper latching after yesterdays adjustment. It still failed to latch every time. So, I adjusted the latch plate out some more. It still would latch on the first catch, but not the second. A firm hand thump on the center bottom of the hatch would often engage the second catch.
On closer inspection, the latch plate bar and the rubber bumpers move together. If the bumpers were getting hard, moving the latch plate would not change the latching.
Something else in happening here. Maybe a sticky mechanism? I will think about this and come back to the problem.
Any ideas?

Today I replaced the rear endlinks on a 2005 S60. Ended having to grind off one bolt/nut. PITA

Changed the spark plugs with Bosch Platinums. While I did it I disconnected the battery. After putting in the new plugs and reconnecting the battery and starting it up........my CEL is finally off! It's been on for the better part of 5 years, I think the plugs were originals with 280000 kms. The gap on the old ones were about 50 thousandths of an inch with well worn electrodes. A few of them were a little reluctant to unscrew because they had bad carbon deposits on the thread ends but the new ones went in good with a little anti-seize.

Great plug life! They usually last about 100-150k with the rare metal electrodes

Your battery disconnect may have cleared non-critical ECU codes but that's ok!

Bought one!

07 XC70 black on black
Super clean interior which was a big draw
170k (gulp)
Geartronic 5 speed (they all have this)

Dealer serviced from 0k - 158k and I have complete paperwork for all of that, from first two owners.
Also have complete paperwork from thirds owner 158k - 170k: one oil change

Still on original struts and shocks so will replace those ASAP, many other things already done.
Will start going over it more finely in my garage and build a parts list while I wait for the FCP end of year or post-Xmas sale. They have that, right?

No pics accessible on this device but I'll get some posted soon.

Unfortunately this ends my search for an 07 V70 T5M. Wife found one she likes first.

Nice.....did it come with some Russetts?

Will start going over it more finely in my garage and build a parts list while I wait for the FCP end of year or post-Xmas sale. They have that, right?

Thankfully they have excellent customer service. I've ordered parts just to see them on sale a couple of days later, or they have a new discount going on, and I've contacted them and received store credit for the difference. It never hurts to ask them. I've stopped buying parts from anyone else for my Volvo.

I just realized how much I praise FCPEuro, as can be seen in other posts I've made, and I'm not even affiliated with them.

Every problem I've had with any order, or part, they've been prompt to fix. Thankfully I've only received one part that was completely damaged that I couldn't use, which was the PCV box. A quick email with the pics showing the damage and they had a new one sent out to me, and I returned the damaged part in the same box after the new one arrived. They even paid shipping to get the new part to me and the damaged one back to them.
