On those turbo hoses, some oil seepage is normal. Can you wipe out with some paper towels and run it fora bit and see what the load is like?

That orange crap is a bit disturbing, does it match any fluid colour ?

Ha, thanks. I'm actually excited I won't have to lift Ben when I replace the fuel filter. I think it's super cute that it's literally RIGHT THERE if you happen to be lying on the ground talking to your car. Not that I've done that.

For the terbs, it's the rubber hose clamped ends that mate to the to the plastic or whatever material over-engine pipe. I desperately want to make that an interesting color. I almost took a paint pen to the "Volvo" lettering on the engine cover yesterday. That's when I realized I should probably open a garage door after using a whole can of Brakleen to remove gunga and mystery drip (trans fluid prolly) around the trans case. Where was I? Hoses! Yeah, you know how oil eventually makes rubber hose all gooey and squishy? That's what's happening. I don't like it because I want a clean bay to better see when bad things happen. Like signs of impending coolant system explosion. I see hoses I suspect are part of that system stamped with 2003 and get very nervous. KnowwhatImean, Vern? I might replace the crappy turbo rubber with pretty blue silicon hoses. What's the number on the douche scale if I do that?

Sorry I didn't take pictures. What load are we talking about? Like how much oil comes back? Where is this oil coming from? Ben hasn't told me he's losing oil... Grrrr turbos! All they do is make inside parts outside parts. Grumble grumble. Heehee.

The orange mystery stuff is alien an hopefully rust runoff from I don't know. I didn't have room in my brain to try and chase that yesterday.

That’s an old one.....

The turbo cars are always misting the intake manifold with a bit of oil from the turbo bearings , so it’s normal to get residue inthe hoses and pipes. If no one has been in there for a while, you can get droplets of oil, none Of which is problematic. Likewise a little drop at the turbo case

Just remember ROYGBIV for the letters on the engine cover, done with sharpie of course

Rear shocks on the 07 XC70 and that completes the corners on that car.

So glad I spent $200 on this spring compressor last month, makes that part of the job effortless and stress-free. Four springs down so two to go: on the S60 R the PO replaced the 4C front struts but they used aftermarket spring seats, which are of course both broken now.

That seems like a great deal! A new 7600 is close to $1K. I remember watching a guy use something like that to replace a set of front struts I gave him. Just in and out (not Burger). Since I have a 1/2" Battery Impact now I just borrow the spring compressor from Advance. It's still a bit of work but that 7200 should make quick work besides being much safer.

Did you secure that to something?
