Just got my aisin t-lV from rockauto so I can flush the transmission fluid on my R car. I've had good success with them. Look at the magnet they sent me! MDK

Got the state inspection and put it into service after a month and a half of post-purchase reconditioning.

Up to 75mph, it drives nearly perfect. A vibration at higher speeds, and a slight twitch crossing center in the steering, suggest it could use a new set of tires and and alignment.

It might have a minor exhaust leak. I'll need to have someone put it on a lift and look using a probe. If it's there, it's not bad enough to find with mark one eardrum and a set of ramps.

It's got a pronounced turbo whistle when I'm into the pedal. Since I'm not getting a CEL for the MAF reading being out of whack, I'm guessing it's either normal for this car, or the turbo is beginning to get worn? Not sure there.

As it happened, the 1997 Camry it's replacing got T-boned on the way back from the double-date inspection appointment, so the S60 is REALLY in full time service now... with a few things yet to be done.

Do these cars tend to have a generally soft brake pedal feel? It's got no shortage of brake authority, in fact its stopping distance seems excellent to me, but the pedal seems to have a squishy feel. I checked the pad retainer clips, they're correct. Air in the lines? Or is that just how these cars are?

Brakes should be nice and firm. Once in a while, if all the fluid runs out, you have to go into VIDA and activate the pump to get the air out of the system

Nice timing on the refurbishment. RIP Toyota, hope the important parts, the ones with fingers and toes, are all ok.

Is it that simple, or do I need to do it while bleeding or something like that?

For real. Yes, everyone is okay. It was one of the light t-bonings; the car is still serviceable, it just LOOKS like a 24 year old s***box now.

I’ve never had to do the VIDA bleed but one of our clubbers did. You have to open bleeders and then activate the pump in software. Alternatively, drive it fir a bit, then rebleed. Is this one staying on Chappy or does it go up to nasty Boston ?

I try to stay out of Boston. When I go off-island, it's either to the Cape or Plymouth county, or to the towns near and west of Lowell.

This will be the primary off-island excursion car.

Yesterday I swapped out the driver's side sunvisor for one that has a mirror door that stays shut/open when it's supposed to rather than flopping around like the old one did. I also installed a driver's door inside pull handle, the big plastic piece used to close the door.

Today I swapped out the left rear door module. Still having a bit of trouble getting the door handle rod to clip onto the door module's blue clip, but I'll get it hopefully.

I also took pics of my front leather seats, since I guess not many people have seats without rips or tears in them. Mine have grease on them from working on the car but it'll wipe off when I get around to it.

Here's my front seats...
