If this is a 2000 R the VVT will play all kinds of games with vacuum to keep the mixture lean during cold burn, so I bet manifold vacuum is all over the place until that stops

Yeah, that would definitely make sense. My VVT hub makes an awful grinding on startup too, so I'm sure that's not helping. I wanted to change that when I did the timing belt, but I didn't have a spare at the time.

Whoa Nellie.

If VVT isnt right, won't that muck up exhasut back pressure, turbo, boost, and Oxford Commas?

Have a look in VIDA for your exhaust cam angles.

It probably would affect those things, but being that it would only be able to adjust within the VVT's adjustment range, I don't know that it would be enough to limit boost like this.

Then again, I've been wrong before.

230k oil change and replaced the turbo oil line drain clamp. Prised it off the water pipe, eased the M6 nut bolt, cleaned up and reclamped. II then power washed the nice clean engine so I can see the next oil leak.

I took the '98 V70 to my trusted shop for a wheel alignment. I could've sworn that I was off by a thread when replacing the outer tie rod to replace a torn boot, and it had bugged me for the longest time. But the shop said they took it for a test drive and got it on the machine — and it doesn't need an alignment. Everything was in the green, including toe and camber.

Am I going insane, or does the tolerance of those machines allow it to be a thread or two off?

Of course, after all that, I was met with a brand-new combination of dash lights in the '00 V70: ABS and BRAKE. My brother suggested reseating the ABS module.

Read the ABS codes first to see what is faulting. I bet someone pulled on your brake wires and snapped a sensor cable.

BCM-666 Wheel sensor signal missing.

Yup, that's definitely possible.

Those alignment machines aren't the greatest though. I did the alignment on my R myself and did better than my cousin on a Hunter laser alignment rack. I was close, but I was slightly toed out rather than in. He corrected it, but the steering wheel hasn't been straight since.

In other news, I bought some iPd front springs last night for the R. Those should be here Saturday, so I'll likely put those in this weekend and add some spacers to the Nivos to drop the rear end. Can't wait to get rid of that monster truck stance! Then after all that's done, I'll have my cousin fix the alignment.

Replaced nasty ignition components which should only be 5 years old, but clearly were 23... :P New Bougicords on the way, along with a Forge piston style CBV, since Big Blue is now the Big Blue Bogdown Machine. Should be good. :)

I've never been in many P80 Volvos that track straight, but I have yet to see one where the steering wheel is at 12 o'clock when the wheels are straight. Every alignment, I have them recenter the wheel, and within 100 miles it's always turned to 2 o'clock despite tracking straight. What gives, my OCD is killing me?
