You dont want much toe in, around one degree since front wheel drive pulls the tires forward on the highway and adds to the tore-in due to give in the rubber parts. A non centered wheel drive me nuts. loosen up the tie-rod one thread on the side the wheel is Ponting to and see how that is. or two threads on that side and tighten one thread on the other side. Im guessing he gave you 2.5 degrees like they always do instead of looking it up.bmdubya1198 wrote: ↑02 May 2019, 15:27 Yup, that's definitely possible.
Those alignment machines aren't the greatest though. I did the alignment on my R myself and did better than my cousin on a Hunter laser alignment rack. I was close, but I was slightly toed out rather than in. He corrected it, but the steering wheel hasn't been straight since.

Ill send youPM - Can you harvest the dash wire harness, and especially both sides of all the connectors? Ive got wiring to do on Abbys S70 and need connectors.brunocerous wrote: ↑26 Apr 2019, 08:33 Ha! Basically, it's a parts car. It doesn't help that the XC AWD is on a pitched driveway, we're still working on the EuroVan, and I've got a T5 that I have yet to tinker with. I was hoping to junk it this week after SWMBO tired of looking at it in our driveway, but I can't seem to find the keys for it. That might give me time to swap the nicer steering wheel for mine.
We also found mismatched coil packs, oil-soaked spark plugs, badly cracked serpentine and timing belts and some other signs of neglect.

I can't remember, but I have the printout and I watched the computer and made sure he set it correctly. The issue is that the steering wheel lock that comes with the machine can't always hold the wheel perfectly straight. Most shops probably forget to straighten and secure the wheel, which is why it's off center.tardcart wrote: ↑02 May 2019, 17:00 You dont want much toe in, around one degree since front wheel drive pulls the tires forward on the highway and adds to the tore-in due to give in the rubber parts. The XC90's like that too though as far as the wheel being off center. But that's because it desperately needs tie rods, the steering is very sloppy. I'm going to install those just before it gets new tires so I can have an alignment done at the same time.
As for my GLT, I had to correct that alignment myself after Firestone did it. As soon as I picked it up, the wheel was at the 1:00 position. I went back and they gave me a whole runaround and made up a scenario where the car was in a front left collision (car was actually hit on the front right, but the damage doesn't go past the turn signal in the inner fender) and the frame was shortened, therefore the steering wheel can't be straight anymore, but the alignment is "perfect" (no way, the car pulled hard to the left). Most hilarious story I've ever heard! Those dopes didn't even want to correct their error. I drove home, tweaked the tie rods a little bit, and it's been tracking perfectly straight ever since.

Went to knock off my 95,000 mile front brake parts on the T5, and realized I only ordered 1 rotor.

Whats Swedish for Fuster Cluck?

You could say that you "skitit i det blå skåpet". Which means you took a dump in the blue closet...
Means you f-ed up, went too far. When stuff goes wrong, it "barkar åt skogen", which means it's headed for the woods.
So when you take a dump in the blue closet, things are headed for the woods.
Swedes are crazy.

How was the rear toe on yours? I do my own alignments on a Hunter, everything up front is in spec and close to perfect but crooked wheel...bmdubya1198 wrote: ↑02 May 2019, 19:00
I can't remember, but I have the printout and I watched the computer and made sure he set it correctly.
On both of my 850 Wagons, I have trailing arm bushing problems and the rear won't set properly or stay put. I always assumed that was part of the issue.

The rear was out of spec, I'd have to check the sheet again. It was very slight, but it was out. Mine is the same with that though, except I have the AWD multilink rear end on my V70R. I'm not sure what adjustments can be made on this car. I know rear toe is adjustable on the delta link FWD rear end.DeadEric wrote: ↑04 May 2019, 19:33 How was the rear toe on yours? Well, I got the parts I needed yesterday, now I just need to make time to get them in, haha. I'll post if it makes a difference.
If I remember I'll look up the adjustment specs for yours and see if it's adjustable.
