lol, well in my opinion, and I believe most people's opinion on this forum, all repairs should be done by the owner...not a mechanic. Theh PNP switch does not look difficult from what I have looked over. I am going to do mine this spring.

I take next to nothing to a mechanic but then again I grew up poor. If I wanted a car to drive then I had to know how to fix it so I quickly learned shadetree mechanic skills. It all started when I destroyed a Torqueflight transmission trying to show off at an intersection as my classmates pulled up on their bicycles when I was 14 - Note to self, doing a neutral slam to try to burn rubber with a 1965 Chrysler Newport station wagon doesn't work or end well.

In Kansas you could then get a restricted (7 AM to 7PM) full privilege drivers license at age 14, you can still get one at age 15 if you made it through drivers ed and got the certificate.

I digress.

While I am a huge proponent of "do it yourself and save" and I fear nothing in the car, there is a skill level and comfort level that must be obtained. If, after careful review in the database writeups, it is outside of an individual persons comfort zone there is no shame in going ahead and taking it to a shop. Even Dirty Harry said, "A man's got to know his limitations".
