Re: improve 0-60 time/ more stage 0
Figure out why the check engine light is on - it limits turbo boost if that's lit up.
You probably need to replace vacuum lines, etc on that car.
A GLT won't redline with your foot on the floor - 6000 is past the powerband to the engine so it shifts earlier than a T5.
No idea what that noise is.
A 15t will give you a bit better pickup earlier in the rev range than a 16, but it's still a big difference. 16's can handle more boost as well. For a stage 1 tune, you don't need to change injectors or anything.

Hi Guys,
I now what that sound is! It's boost pressure getting blown up into the atmosphere. You have a boost leak! I know, I have been fighting with one for some time now. Also, replace you vacuum lines and have a look at the entire ignition system. I just looked over mine and found the plug gaps to be too large. Together with replacing the vacuum lines, sealing up the inter cooler and replacing all the boost pipes... You will not believe what a difference that made.
Try to sort out the trouble you have now, (CEL) before blowing money on a larger Turbo and injectors. You might be surprised!
As far as I can see that car still goes quite well for a LPT.
I don't get why you would want to do all these mods to a GLT. If I was you I would sell it and get a T5.

okay, if it was turbo blow off, why no noise in P? does the turbo not spool when in N or P for engine safety? and yea, im trying to get my hands on a scanner. i really dont want to spend 300$ on a scanner i'll use once or twice. i have replaced all vacuum lines with silicon ones. the sound also seems to come from the far drivers side. i dont think its turbo boost leak, as i calculated my 0-60 to be about 8 in the video. also, i had to correct torque steer that wasnt present before i replaced the lines. ill look into it though, thanks! have yet to do the ecu reset.

Will,
Are you planning to sell your Volvo? If not, you will need the scanner allot more than once or twice.
I have bought the following and it can do what I want it to. Go check it out.
http://www.obd2be.com/elm327-bluetooth-p-141.html @ $20.00 + shipping
http://www.obdsoftware.net/TouchScanInfo.aspx @ $35.00
The nice thing is you can use it on all your friends cars also.

I would probably agree with you that your car may not be performing perfectly but PLEASE don't ignore what the car is trying to tell you. The OBDII system is there to help you with emissions, economy AND performance.
The combination of someone who wants to go FASTER and an ABS light in the dashboard usually spells trouble.......
My advice is get the safety systems in your car sorted; from what I understand from your location Winter is upon you and roads will be wet. You are going to be needing the ABS system to be working well one day and it may save your car from a nasty fender bender. If it's the ABS module user Matty Moo can repair and send it back for very little.

Turbo doesn't spool in park or neutral. And it really doesn't seem that slow to me. The bottom-end acceleration probably helps with that time; I'm guessing it feels a bit slower over 60?
And I agree, fix the ABS module. It's saved my butt more than a couple times.
Get a cheap scanner (I got mine for $25 on sale on Amazon) - it's a necessity for owning a Volvo. You don't need anything fancy, just the ability to read and clear check engine light codes. You're new to Volvos, that light is on at least a few times a year for whenever the cars decide to get pissed off at something for no reason. Someone looks at it in a way it doesn't like, it turns that light on. In the meantime, drop by Advance Auto or Autozone or what have you and have them scan the codes. Write down the P0xxx numbers and let us know what you find - might give a hint to the noise, might not.

okay. went hunting for a place that scans codes for free xD. dealership didnt, but recommended aamco which did. as we pulled in we a saw a independent volvo mechanic shop next door and asked him, he did and these were the codes
pop505-idle air control system
po172-System too rich
anyone have a clue what could cause these?
CEL didnt come on right after, so maybe stored codes or does it take awhile to light back up?

CEL came back on.
im thinking its one of those codes. unless something else went wrong xD. but it would be awkward to ask again lol. anyway, ill investigate both. the mechanic did say it could be a vacuum line leak. but i replaced all my vacuum lines.....except for one. at the top of the turbo. the biggest tube, it goes to most most difficult and awkward nipple i have ever seen...so i did what any brave home mechanic would do....and said "fuck it" and left it on. lol
and sorry, jblackburn. yes it feels slow in the top speeds. but it doesnt really slow till about 100

okay, read around on the forums and am thinking this as an end goal:16t, t5 ecu. what kind of HP am i looking at with exhaust, stock/mod? And most important, price of these items? god, id love to see a 0-60 of 6.something seconds. without the tune. is this possible? Now for exhaust, as i live in cali, the included racing cat from ipd is highly appealing, but cant say the same for the price. i would LOVE ipd's exhaust but it may be out of my limits. Is it worth it? should i try the OBX exhaust and try to find a high-flow cat? ive heard the obx needs a different muffler to kill the drone. is this a problem with ipd? Im also considering eurosport tuning. i am looking to get these things soon after christmas, after i count my bucks. And finally, i feel like a adventurous pioneer here, what if i want to tune the t5 ecu? will i have to go into ipd because of my mis-matched parts?
i feel like a little kid throwing all these questions at you guys, when my car isnt even working right.
ill tone it down with the posts and questions about go-fast bits till my car is fixed. sorry :p thanks for the help!
(i even tried, and managed, understanding the compression graphs for my turbo options, lol)

P0172 is usually the vacuum nipple at the left side of the intake manifold.
If you need to replace the PCV system, you can rightly fix that whole tube then. In the meantime, this is what I did.

Huge long pliers like these help...a lot.
P.S. You really shouldn't be going over 100. You can kill yourself or someone else, not to mention lose your license at speeds like that. The place for that is on an actual race track - yes, I've done track days and they're a lot of fun. But any car short of a V8 or something as streamlined as a Porsche is slow at those speeds
