I followed the directions and ran the car for 2 mins. I now have the battery disconnected and will let it sit for a couple hours. I was wondering how many miles I will need to put on the car until the vehicle will pass the new computerized New York State inspection (if the code clears). I know that the code has to be clear and so many miles put on it to avoid someone clearing an emissions code and then inspecting it right away. I also was wondering if anyone knows if a vehicle speed sensor will be a factor in my car passing NYS inspection. The car runs fine, but had those two codes (o2 sensor & veh. speed sensor) when put on the reader to determine check engine light cause. It is a 2000 S70 with 205K miles on it. Once again thanks for any input. This is a great site and I used it a few years back when I had a 93 850.

If you have any code which lights the CEL, you fail NYS inspection

It takes about 100 miles for the evap loop cycle to complete on my 1999, I've found

Well as soon as I got out of the drive way the Check engine light came back on. Well at least it was worth a shot. May check the junkyard out next weekend. Anyone know if the oxygen sensors are the same as the ones on the 850? I think the engine is the same (5 cyl, FWD, non turbo).

Engine is practically the same but engine menagement is not. :!:

That said....'99 & '00 models should have a Denso engine menagement instead of Bosch.

So...you will need a Denso o2 sensor.
