And I need to "acquire" the VOL-FCR software?
That is the cable I have. The VOL-FCR program is written for a RS-232 Com port so you will need to set up the USB to emulate a com port (Com 1). On Windows 7 that is easy but it was a bit more of a struggle on my old XP laptop and I had to search for drivers to make that happen.

Bump for an update. Couple new parts going in although the manifold will have to wait for a couple of other parts first

I'm getting the manifold ceramic coated but I'm wondering if I should port the main outlet that connects to the turbo?

How much extra power does the manifold give you

Good question. Not really sure to be honest. All I know is that I have an exhaust gasket that's falling apart resulting in an exhaust leak that I'm going to replace with the stainless ARD gasket

And if I'm going to be pulling the stock manifold off, for the low cost of an R manifold, I would like to put that back on instead of the factory one.

Welp, I ended up replacing both front door locking mechanisms today. The passenger door hasn't actually locked since we bought it back in like... 2003. The little thing can be pushed down to lock but the door still actually opens if you pull the handle on the outside of the door(sets off the alarm though).

The other side (guessed but guessed correctly none the less) had a tiny little switch fail which was causing the car to think that the door was still open when it was actually closed. I had the car on, closed the door and the interior lights would stay on and the door open chime would be dinging at me.

There is apparently a little switch that tells the computer that the car door is shut and when that fails, the car thinks the door is still open. Not cool.

I read that you can replace the sensor but upon removing the door lock from the drivers side, NOPE! Apparently volvo changed that for the 99's as mine were fused into some sort of socket that I couldn't remove. The pictures a guy on a forum posted where he unsodered the switches and replaced them looked completely different from my switches :|

So $300 later, I've got 2 brand new door locks in.

Apparently a piece of the passenger side assembly had broken out. There's a plastic arm that connects to the manual lock plunger that just wasn't there... so no wonder it wasn't actually locking.

Here's the 2 passenger side switches. Also note that the new switch has 2 of the tiny little sensors and the one I removed only has one (the closest one has the 3 metal prongs exposed where as the new one has a little sensor switch there???

Anyways, while the doors were apart, I took the opportunity to replaced the old factory speakers with a pair of infinity reference 6032 speakers. They sound great (connected to an aftermarket head unit)

I also applied sound deadening Bquiet Xtreme material on the inside of the door (between the two main pieces) and to the exposed area when you remove the door panel.

I left the doors as they are in the pic above because when I removed both of the front door panels, the 2 main sections separated. The factory adhesive had completely failed so I took some Gorilla Glue and applied it around the contact points of the inner part of the door and have dumbbells sitting on them out in the garage to keep pressure on them while the glue cures overnight. There were several little plastic pieces that have the push pins that were simply glued to the inside of the door panel that fell off when removing the panels that I've also got glued back on.

Both door panels have the leather material bubbled off . I tried to fix the drivers side door but couldn't figure out how to get it to hold

Tomorrow, I'm going to apply sound deadening to the inside of the panels and put them back on the doors.

Once I'm done with that, I'm going to install the tranny cooler then get up with Lucky to plan out the turbo upgrade.

Looks great man! You have given me the bug to start upgraded things on my V70. Can you tell a difference with the R manifold? Any news on the turbo upgrade yet?
