Right, My thoughts exactly. Just wondering that if the Heater Core was leaking would it be able to drain below the car in the same area as the HVAC drain? What would be the symptoms in the car to look for of a leaking heater core?

Also is there typically condensation that drains off the evap core and out of the HVAC drain?

I don't really understand what's leaking, or where.

When you say "plastic heater core junction box" are you talking about the heater hose coupler in the firewall, or some box under the dash?

Heater core junction = plastic coupler in the firewall that connects engine cooling lines to heater core lines, No visible leaks in my 5/8" hose job.

I just did this and was not able to find a single placard on my compressor. It is original to the car that I know. Not sure what happened to it. I used PAG 100. Had a 50/50 shot either way. Hopefully it doesn't kill my compressor.

(1) No it would not be able to. The drain has a semi-seal around it.
(2) Leaking heater core look for wet carpet, due to seepage where the core screws into the heater box. The heater box is the white plastic casing around the core. Usually you can see white crusty residue somewhere. If the 5/8 hoses are for sure not leaking where they are clamped to the pipes, then also check the o-rings where the pipes go into the core. It can be a real PITA to tell leaking o-rings from a leaking core.

Yep, makes a puddle under the car when it is humid. This is what abscate just posted about.

Ok, then I think my issue/not an issue is condensation. I always had the impression that the "puddle" we always see after running AC was from the Drier being exposed to humid air. I guess the Evap core is exposed as well, hence the drain. It all makes sense now haha
