Tire sizes

Sorry for the delay getting back.

I have had a quick look on Kijiji for Calgary area. Unfortunately with the recent snow fall the pickings are slim.

One problem you have is that the P80 V70XC only came with 15" wheels. You can fit larger rim diameters, but the issue have then is that at 16" few people (possibly none) ever fitted 16" wheels for winter tires. Personally I prefer the 15" wheels as the higher sidewall is more forgiving on rutted winter roads. 2nd thing is that the recommended tire size for 16" is 205/60/16 which is a very unusual tire size.
I don't think I have ever seen tires of that size for sale here on Volvo rims. The regular V/S70 (FWD) used 205/55/16 tires which there are plenty of.

Another issue to consider is that as you V70Xc is early AWD it is particular to tires being of similar wear, so when buying used be very careful.

Options are:

1) Go with 15" rims, and 195/65/15 (or 185/65/15) rims (ideally 43mm offset and 65.1mm bore). There is currently only one option on Kijiji:

2) There are a set of 16" in the correct size, but the wheels (possibly the ones you mentioned for a Taurus) for sale, and buy a cheap set of 16" rims and transfer the tires?

Check on Kijiji for the tire size of 205-6-/16 and see what is available. But check that the tires are fairly new because of the wear issue!

3) There are a set of rims/tires in 16" for a Volvo (Rims and tires are on for $150 from a 04 S80). They say the spacing is 5 x 110m, But I'd check that. I'm not familiar with S80's but it must be one of the only Volvos with that hole spacing if it is).
