It really doesn't make sense to fix this. With my target for the car life of 200k miles in reach, I think this will go to the next owner is year or two. If you aren't seeing any oil use on the dipstick, clean it once a year like me.

Good advice. Next major routine maintenance is timing belt and even that's a year away at this rate. Not quite the longevity of my 544s but a lot less rust - and maybe a wee bit safer.

Did you replace the turbo oil return line and gasket (o ring) ?

I had a heavily oiled engine which magically cleaned up when I replaced that

Oil from that o ring will hit the axle shaft and spray up oil and create seepage looking points I chased for two years

One $5 o ring, dry engine!

The oil is coming from the front of the engine, at firewall
Or passenger side (LHD) again, front
It leaks when hot, indicating seal.
It must be between cylinder heads. Or cam cover
Sorry, should have stated its a 96 850t
So no exhaust vvt
And outside of a crack, maybe the exhaust manifold studs protruding because maybe engine mounts are dyeing

What a wanker I am. Almost two years past “ target life”

Now it’s 300k, 2023.

Are you going to get rid of a perfectly fine car that just had the piston rings finally fully settled in? =)
