LOL. Sorry, I mean I don't know that it is such a problem. I know what a fold is.

The issue of lip folding over is not new, it has been discussed in different car forums, not unique to Volvos.

Of course. To clarify more: I just don't know that it is such a problem with P80 cars, for example I have not seen it discussed here before. Maybe it is time to try my old pal Google ...

Google says 108 threads here for "folded seal," these aren't all going to be about cam seals but clearly it is an issue, thanks cn90 it is great to have it so clearly explained.

Does anyone know if there is a way to determine the brand of cam seals that were installed simply by looking? I want to see the brand that was used and I don't trust the mechanic that did it....I am no longer going to him.

Thanks

Brand name is usually on the seal. I made a mistake of using national, it started to leak few months later.

Sometimes the name is on, sometimes not.
Corteco is brown.
SKF is green.

But things may change.

The trick is: if not leaking, leave it alone, deal with it when it comes.
I posted photos of where one can find oil when the front cam seals leak.
The photos are in the timing belt, serp belt DIY thread.
