The car has 257k on this clutch. It's worn to the rivets.

Dual mass flywheel is one time use only and it is expensive to replace.

I did the single mass flywheel conversion using a 95 flywheel and the R clutch.

Hi 1337,

Very nice looking car, looks like it is in really great condition.
Funny i never noticed these cars until i got mine, now i cant help but notice them around town :-)

Mine has everything fairly decent except the front bumper has a 'hole' in it that looks like somebody hit a 2 inch diameter pipe head on. Strange. I recently broke the center arm rest plastic on the back where the second cigar lighter is located. Not sure how to fix that yet.

I got mine for about 2000 in need of some repairs right off the bat, and with all repairs i guess i am up around 3500 now total cost of ownership, but i regularly see cars for sale that have price tags of 4000 to 11000 around town, and who knows what is wrong with them. Still have some work to do on it yet, but it did get through inspection last month so hopefully the costs dont get too high now.
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.

Me too! Here in the SF Bay Area, I hardly see any of our cars in the south bay / suburbs. But, in Berkeley and San Francisco, I can't drive a block without seeing at least one.

Could your bumper be pre-drilled for one of those tow hook eyelets that screw in?

Nice! I have a spreadsheet of what spent on mine. Besides the car itself, I've done about $2000 of maintenance to it. If I could buy one of these (a 1st gen V70 T5M) for $30000 with a bumper to bumper warranty, I probably would.

Hi,

Well my bumper is not drilled, it is pushed in but only in that one small area where it looks like it was pushed in with the end of a pipe. So the hole looks round and pushed in, not really drilled. It was clearly some sort of mishap but dont know how that could happen. The rest of the bumper looks ok.
Here's a small pic.

abscate wrote:The clutches on these cars are just unbelievably rugged. My 1999 had six teens learn stick on it, and I pulled a 3000 pound boat out of a launch ramp with horrible clutch slipping once too.

Now at 180k still smooth as silk.

I would be afraid of jinxing it but if it went out tomorrow I would have to tip my hat to its service
.

So far as I know*, my car has done over 205000 miles on the original clutch. No signs of slipping.

* I have a giant file of receipts from the original owner, and I don't any receipts for a new clutch.

Now that the car has new struts/shocks (Bilstein TC), new tires (Hankook Ventus V12), and an alignment, it drives TOTALLY different than when I first got it. When I first got the car, it crashed over bumps, and the wheels would occasionally bounce around due to the bad shocks. Now, it's flat and confident through the corners, and it absorbs bumps well. It feels almost... sporty?
