Oil pan damage 97 850 NA

So far it looks ok, but won't be able to tell until I drive the car for a while. At the moment I am much more concerned by the weeping in the join between the upper and lower crankcase. I'm hoping one the engine is run with the ATP St-205 added to it it may help that as I have no plans to take the engine out (+ the boss would kill me!!).

Thanks for the offer of the shorter oil drain plug, but hopefully the new OE drain plug and crush washer will work. Don't know what was in there before but it was not a Volvo washer for sure.

I don't think that is anything but casting marks. Perhaps try a copper crush washer with more give.

Eels..that block oil leak is not good news. Are you sure it's engine oil and PS fluid?

Oil is yellow/brown of oil, v's red of the PS. PC pump and pipes are bone dry. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Last hope - PAG oil seeping from AC compressor? Looks a lot like engine oil (except I usually see a green or purple hue on it.

Now that I never looked at. Very good point, but I'd have to see how it got there from the compressor and onto the engine block. Thanks for the lateral thinking my friend. I'll let you all know later once I go out to beat on the rear brakes and this time install ALL the correct working parts unlike the repair shop before me!
