Synthetic Oil-- why can't you switch back/worth it?

Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.

1992 - 1997 850, including 850 R, 850 T-5R, 850 T-5, 850 GLT
1997 - 2000 S70, S70 AWD

To find out how healthy the engine is and whether we can extend the oil change. Afterall, the whole 3k mile oil change interval is a myth. No one says that's when you should change oil. At that pace you may as well change it every day. It's no better or worse for the engine.

How are you guys turning that PDF from Blackstone labs into a jpeg? I feel dumb asking but idk how to post mine.

Easiest is to just screen shot it in MAC OSX or print to jpg in WIN

Fleets use Blackstone to change oil when needed, not just on schedule. I think most private owners just confirm their interval is reasonable

This is the most reasonable engine oil thread I have ever read. Lol

I purchased my DD with 189,000 miles, switched to synthetic after I serviced the PCV at 191,000 and now have 333,548. Have done 2 Blackstone oil samples, about to do a third.

My engine has never been opened and developed a leak which I have not fixed at about 300,000.

Look up Print screen in google and how it works.

In Win7 and up there is a Snipping Tool, too... (about the only useful feature in Windows - but that just MHO)

Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.

Snipping tool worked great, thanks! I wouldn't be able to fit everything if I did print screen, I fear.
