Other brands are also targeted. I have purchased a Lemforder control arm bushing off Ebay from a seller who still sells these. In came in original Lemforder boxes. Broken one year later on both sides. Searching by the stamped number on the rubber, it turned to be some shady company making these.
And then there is yet another problem. Every assembly line has quality rejects after the quality inspection. These parts don't go on sale by the manufacturer, but workers in the factories grab them and sell them online in original boxes. It happened to me when buying new struts, got several new that were faulty (Amazon purchase, a seller was selling only quality check rejects).
Most of the time these problems happen when one pays a price significantly lower than the normal market price at other sellers on the same parts.
