Definitive answer from Volvo on the blank screwdriver. You are supposed to leave the screwdriver with the blank in To prevent putting holes in the leather seat. Apparently, this is an issue , especially in FL

Definitely possible... I've never figured out how to use it. My spares are all held down by that strap.

IF it is shaped like a L it picks up the bracket in the bottom of the spare tire well, up though the spare, through the jack and then you spin a large wing nut down onto the spare to stop it from rattling.
