engine not sitting right in engine bay

The left point is just about 16” exactly, while the right point is 23 1/8”. I’ll check the V70R later.

It seems I MIGHT have figured this out! I pulled off the passenger side engine mount and bracket, and the part number on the bracket is 9470819. This shows a P2-specific engine mount bracket https://www.volvooempartsdirect.com/oem ... 931?c=az0x

This PN has been superseded by... you guessed it... 8683931. This bracket came off the ‘01 V70 the old engine had apparently come from. Off to the junkyard to get the right bracket! I’ll update this thread with results.

Well I got the mount bracket from the junkyard, and it's pretty much exactly the same as the P2 one. Not sure exactly what is different, but they seem to be totally compatible. I took several measurements, and they are identical. Oh well, not like it was very hard to get that piece.
However I think I found my problem. The rear engine/transmission mount is pretty collapsed, and a little crooked. I wouldn't be surprised if it's in 2 pieces when it comes out. It probably didn't help that the transmission sat on that alone for a while while I sourced a replacement engine. Looks like I'll be replacing that!

Odd.
If the trams isolator is that collapsed and is the cause of the shift, I don't think that PS mount would hold up to very long, being forced out of alignment like that.
It looks like the engine wants to come forward on the PS for things to appear "correct". Is there any difficulty in getting that PS aligned properly during installation?

Nope, I was able to get it aligned easily by adjusting the height of the engine with a floor jack. It's pretty crazy though, because everything lines up fine. The only other issue I can see is the transmission is pressing down on the little bumper on the subframe, meaning it's sitting too low. It seems the combination of this and the failing/failed rear mount are causing a slight vibration while driving. Nothing major, but I notice it.

My only turbo car is still apart but here are NA measurements

16 on the pass side

The other is a 161/2 inch drop to the corner of the cylinder head cover from the mid point of the top rear engine mount bolt

Errors estimated at 6mm

So we're looking good on the left side. I'll have to measure that to the cam cover bolt tomorrow.

Couldn't you have just swapped a turbo intake manifold on there real quick just to measure it? :mrgreen:
