When I did this job (evap, compressor, drier, accumulator, purge valve) i rented an ac flush kit (hooks up to an ac compressor) from O'Reilly's, and 1 liter of solvent. It's cost prohibitive to replace all the AC lines and make the system 100% new as you said, but flushing the lines might help clean them out. And since the tool rental was free, it cost me like $20 to do.
Not sure if anyone mentioned it already, but easy time to replace your cabin air filter.
Also if you have a shakey dash like I did, I used this time to fix my dash tabs
