I didn't know there was a date code on the ETM. My 99' has a yellow label one, I have to check the date on that.
Thanks!
Yeah, the yellow label ETMs are the newer ones that I believe are supposed to be improved. If you look at the second line down on the left just above the Magneti Marelli logo, it'll have two numbers and a "W", then two more numbers. That's the year and week. So for example, 99W46 would be 46th week of 1999.

Thanks for the link!
Great article written by Alex Fiehl. I once bought a black Volvo 850 5-speed from him.

I’ve read here the design is exactly the same. I do think the Mtbf is about 150k , notwithstanding the biased failure data here

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same. Why improve something when you'll be able to sell more crappy ones?

Lol. I have some old Griots Garage bottles filled with water. He sprays his Little Tykes truck and wipes it down every time we go outside. Haha.

At least he stopped spraying his younger brother in the face... lol.

Ahhh... gotta love my R. Always keeping me on my toes. Constant stress and anger is the goal of this car! Now I need to polish this fender after I just washed and applied sealant last night.

Good thing this corner light wasn't a jewel. I'd be straight up furious if it was.
