Does anyone go to a quality independent shop where the guy can cleverly copy the OE system? Or is he just ordering bargain aftermarket pieces to build it up?
quality is laughable up here, clown show is the normal.
the local place took 5 months to replace my radiator, from january to june.
Should never have said 'no rush'.
on top of that they asked if i wanted to prepay, I said 'you haven't done anything yet' .

When I had my tires balanced they did a courtesy check, the car went in there with a slight phhffft leak at the flange, came out blasting exhaust, they obviously yanked it loose.

I watched a roofing company take 5 weeks to do a roof that i know would be done in one day in boston, my buddy was a roofer.

Hold on, hold on... Boston Logan is 40 minutes away.

Wife's pissed off at me (working slowly in my second shift, at her house project that's undergoing a huge renovation), so she hired top guys with "Elite" in their gang name. Not cheap! Quite the opposite! The first thing they did is 6 wooden vents, $70 each, installed up side down. Every one was wrapped in a box with huge red warning saying in clear English to flip it backwards before installation.

That was when, like two months ago? They haven't finished yet. I'm about to finish whatever I'm doing wife-unacceptably slowly, take their job and command to GTFO.

Where are you 100 miles from Bangor? I'm driving up north a few times a year, to went out in woods around Millinocket/Ashland, may have a drink with a Volvo fellow :)

100°F today but the 08 needed an oil change. Wasn't awful with a fan directly on me in the garage. Also drained and filled the transmission, third time in last three oil changes so should now be good and shifts really smooth.

The oil filter looked really really good given this 3000 mile change had a half quart of MMO in it to help with any potential sludge. This being the third change ready for 5000 mile intervals now. Bought with 138k and now at 144k, it's a keeper.

'in the garage' is what makes it doable, I have a small aircon running in mine, keeps it tolerable but not really chill.
Without the garage I'd have to start at 5 am to beat the sun.

No. Need to slacken the front bolts and lower the subframe 2-3" in back. Don't forget to disconnect the steering rack from the steering shaft.

Has anyone heard from oragex in a while? I remember something about him having health issues. Hope he's okay. He's definitely contributed a lot here. His videos had sometimes led me down the garden path, but overall they've been a huge help and very unique in their information provided.

Much of my time during the job is spent hauling things up and down the stairs to the basement or in and out of the storage shed, or running back downstairs when I realize I need something else,or taking a break from standing out in the sun,or using flashlights or work lamps when it gets dark.

Today I steam cleaned the carpets, under the rear seat, and the way back carpet. Ace hardware rents them with a hand sprayer attachment.

, I put a split coupler on each side of the joint,
a 3 inch section of 63mm pipe inserted (hammered) in the cat side,
resonator side is slightly bigger , the flange bolts drew it together.

Firefox31 posted a link to a firm that makes a great flange joint you can clamp or weld on, for about $35
