Swapped the rear view mirror glass on the 01 S60 today. Fortunately I got a good one from the junkyard... I pulled the UEM and separated the old mirror yesterday and attempted to install the new glass I had, but I ended up cracking it because I didn't realize the newer style glass with the plastic backing didn't quite clear the mirror housing.
Trimmed two alignment nubs for the PCB and it's all good now!

Original bleeding mirror and original replacement cranked mirror.

I believe that they didn't rub on the S70, because that was the standard size for S70ies, at least for the european market.
Blast, that's annoying. In 205/50/16 the only two premium tyre choices I have are the Hankook Ventus Prime 3s or the Goodyear Efficient grips. I can't get most of the new tyres in a 50 profile (CSC6s/Primacy 4s/PS4s/or most winter tyres). Admittedly, both the Hankooks and Goodyears are very good tyres, but the price hike between profiles is ridiculous. EfficientGrips, for example, are £94 ea in 50 profile or £49 ea in 55 profile.
Thing is though: if you are mindful that you don't turn the steering wheel to full lock you should get away with it. You will need to inspect the inner wheelhousings occasionally.

Picked up a pair of coil springs for $20 from a local former owner of a 1998 V70.

Anyone know what brand they might be? Supposedly made in Sweden. ProParts?

Probably not Pro Parts... most of their stuff isn't made in Sweden (at least I don't think so). It may be Lesjofors, those are made in Sweden.

Scantech. It’s the second step of the 12 step process from URO to Genuine Volvo parts.

The “ Made in Sweden” gives you hope.

Scantech is what evolved into URO, isn't it? Or maybe ProParts... dunno, they're all at the first few steps!

You should see what comes up on some of the Volvo Facebook pages I'm on. Between using cheap parts and general stupid questions... those who post on forums tend to at least do a LITTLE research before posting a new thread!

Ha! I ended up finding a Russian-language site that listed the part number as ScanTech.

Can the “Made in Sweden” label even be true?
