Hi. Saw your post. I'm having no luck finding the replacement A-Pillars for my 2008 S60.
Suggestions?
RayMo
Did this on my 08 S60 (peeling fabric), the plastic a-pillars take plastic compatible paint really well too.
What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

I found mine on eBay. The a-pillars on my 02 are plastic, think they made the change to fabric in 05?
On my 05 XC90 I broke down and bought new for $100 a pop, but FCPEuro shows them discontinued for the S60. Not sure if anyone would have new old stock.
A local upholstery shop may be able to re-wrap them for you too.

I drove my 2001 V70 T5 to another town about 45 miles away. Today's temperature was about 98F. A/C was on high the entire trip. I drove 70 MPH with cruise on the highway. Some driving on city streets for maybe 100 blocks. Returned by the same method and idled 5 minutes for fast food. Trip mileage was indicated as 26.3 MPG after resetting about 2 miles into the trip. Indicated trip MPG reached 27.3 on the highway out.
I recently cleaned the throttle plate and that seemed to help smooth idle.

Rescued my kids 02 S60 today, thankfully he pulled over quick with a low coolant light.
I arrived to a puddle under car with a jug of coolant and ran right out—looks to be from the water pump. 188k miles and had since 158k four years ago, timing belt and water pump was next on the to do list.
Had AAA tow to my Indy shop for them to tackle this one. Tow guy wanted to drive on the flat bed truck, water pump didn’t sound happy. Will ask Indy shop to avoid running it. Just rebuilt the front suspension and tie rods on the 08 C70 this week, need a break!

Replaced the Drivers front Door.
Long story, but suffice to say DON'T get out thing without first making sure it's in park.... It dropped into reverse, door was open and was bent back by the front bumper on her S60... Whoops...
Didn't realise there was so....many bits in a door on a XC70 lol. Anyways, done now.

Has to be one of the easiest front wheel bearings to change ever on the P2.

Had my engine rebuilt 2.5 years ago, the sump has been hot tanked and was shiny clean. Mobil 1 0w40 European Car Formula, 6k miles and 2 oil changes later, at a third oil change:
I don't like what I see. The car mostly sits in driveway, oil barely goes over 2k miles.

Looks a little like my partners RDX which exclusively ran mobil1 for a good while. I think its just staining and not something indicative of wear. I personally pick up tons of penzoil ultra platinum on sale with the rebates for a bit under 35 cad tax included for 5 litres.vtl wrote: ↑10 Jul 2023, 07:21 Had my engine rebuilt 2.5 years ago, the sump has been hot tanked and was shiny clean. Mobil does not have as many detergents (mainly to protect the engine from the current oil, not to clean it from previous oil) as royal purple or penzoil ultra platinum specifically however that may not directly translate to a cleaner engine. There is a lot of knowledge on oil from a variety of generations so there is data online that is dated or not applicable to current blends (disclaimer).
I have not used mobil in my current car, but found in my p80 that the penzoil seemed to run a little quieter compared to mobil. Some youtube video wear tests showed it was a little bit of a "lighter oil" compared to other oils. Anyways this was more of a brain dump but id recommend going for some other brands to try as price wise it should not be that far off considering you are using a boutique "euro car formula" esque oil.

Oh, mind you... This is a cheap junk oil for me
I switched to Pennzoil Platinum (no Ultra) on my big Toyotas. Will try PP in Volvo in 6 months.
The reason I decided on that Mobil is that I saw a picture of a V70XC's sump with almost no lacquer or deposits at all. The owner claimed he used it since new, every 5k miles.
