Oh, mind you... This is a cheap junk oil for me ;) The car was running exclusively on Amsoil Signature and Red Line until the engine failed. After that I saw no reason of dumping $100 on an oil change for a car that barely sees the road. It may have 50k miles of life left in the rebuilt engine, but that's enough for good 15-25 years.

I switched to Pennzoil Platinum (no Ultra) on my big Toyotas. Will try PP in Volvo in 6 months.

The reason I decided on that Mobil is that I saw a picture of a V70XC's sump with almost no lacquer or deposits at all. The owner claimed he used it since new, every 5k miles.
When I got the P2 at 121k miles I dropped the oil sump and cleaned the PVC system. Since then I've used nothing but Redline and Castrol GTX Magnatec for oil along with Purlator Plus and WIX for filters. Approaching 185k miles and the CAM seals haven't leaked yet.

Edit: Forgot to add that I also flush it with BG109 every three oil changes. Black oil drips during those flushes.

Your seals are a factory ones. Mine are Corteco. Well, one rear blew out in no matter of time, I put a new Volvo seal.

heading out to the hospital 90 miles away and found my rear glass broken.
Do they break on their own? Car was in the driveway.
Looks like it was blown out from inside if anything. No idea what happened.
No Ins for this, $360 to replace.

Wow! Extreme heat swing? Parked in blazing sun? No, you guys have had rain rain for weeks, right? (I have a friend in Portland)
No way something inside could have slid and hit it?

I don't see glass on the ground. Was it moved or is there glass shards inside? My experience with cold water on a hot windshield was a crack in the middle - it did not shatter.
Any foreign objects inside?

theres glass on the ground, the glass did appear to be blown outward.
we've had blistering heat and lot of rain too so I dunno.
It was parked in the sunlight whilst I work on the garage floor.
Glass place put plastic sheet over it , the new glass will be in on Friday.

I'll check the inside of the car in case theres any aerosol cans that could have blown up or maybe the spare tire blew, too hot today.
Maybe in october.

I’ve broken two windshields washing a hot car with cold water.

Recently I’ve been surprised to learn a side door window is way more than a windshield.

I've had my wagon sitting in the blistering texas sun every summer for 10 years and never experienced that.
